The decision

Han River, Seokchon Lake and a high-floor city view are different promises. A Jamsil tower property does not guarantee a lake-facing room; a Yeouido address does not guarantee an unobstructed river view. Decide whether your priority is looking out from the room or being able to walk beside the water.

How to compare

Compare the exact view named in the room category with the landmarks you care about. A hotel’s waterfront address or rooftop photograph is not a guarantee of the view from your booked room.

Choose a side of the Han River first: Myeongdong, Gangnam or Jamsil offer different hotel bases.

Before committing

Read the full room name and distinguish partial, side, city and landmark views. Ask which direction the windows face, whether the view is from the room or a public venue, and whether any photographed terrace belongs to that category. Compare the upgrade cost across your whole stay rather than one displayed night. If you will spend daylight hours away, a public waterfront walk may meet the same goal. Keep cancellation flexibility until the exact category is clear.
