The decision

Tokyo Tower, the Imperial Palace side and a general skyline are different views. Minato properties and Otemachi properties should be compared against the landmark you actually want. A high floor alone does not identify the window direction, and a famous lobby photograph does not describe a standard guest room.

How to compare

Compare the exact view named in the room category with the landmarks you care about. A hotel’s waterfront address or rooftop photograph is not a guarantee of the view from your booked room.

Group western and eastern Tokyo into separate days. Before booking, compare the hotel entrance with the station entrance and operator you will actually use. A station name alone does not describe the walk.

Before committing

Read the full room name and distinguish partial, side, city and landmark views. Ask which direction the windows face, whether the view is from the room or a public venue, and whether any photographed terrace belongs to that category. Compare the upgrade cost across your whole stay rather than one displayed night. If you will spend daylight hours away, a public waterfront walk may meet the same goal. Keep cancellation flexibility until the exact category is clear.
